Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Superior Private JA145588 of the 238th Infantry Regiment 3rd Battalion 11th Company 2nd Platoon 2nd Section, who was captured near Lae on 18 September 1943. JA145588, a 24 year old Superior Private from Gunma, was wounded and resting in a local hut when he was captured by Australian troops. He was a rifleman. During the interrogation, JA145588 provided information on his unit organisation, movements, defences at Wewak, and morale and socio-economic conditions in Japan. |
