Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Lae on 22 September shortly after the fall of Lae and the Japanese retreat across the Finisterre Ranges. This item is a manual published in July 1938 by the Navy Department Education Bureau for the training of naval personnel in chemical warfare. It contains information on the properties and physiological effects of gas, medical treatment, chemical warfare equipment, methods of wearing gas masks, collective protection methods, the detection of gas and decontamination. This item also contains diagrams on wearing protective clothing. |
