| Content: | This item is a postal savings book issued to KOBAYASHI Seiichi from the 115th Infantry Regiment of the 51st Division. The front cover contains columns for account number, the agency responsible for the original register, remarks, address and name. The back cover shows a list of instructions. The savings book was issued by the Shimonoseki branch of the Postal Savings Department. The unit name written in the address space indicates KOBAYASHI belonged to the Takagi Unit of the 115th Infantry Regiment and later the Kakegawa Unit of the 38th Unit at the headquarters. The rest of the savings book consists of columns for transaction records. The transactions occurred between 19 February 1940 and 10 January 1943. This item was captured at Lae on 1 July 1944. |
