Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 1st Class Private JA147476 of the 2nd Air Signal Unit, who was captured in Hollandia on 25 April 1944. JA147476, a 25 year old 1st Class Private from Aichi Prefecture, left hospital with the intention of rejoining his unit which had departed when Allied troops landed on 23 April 1944. He was discovered by US troops while asleep in a native hut and surrendered. During the interrogation, JA147476 provided information on Allied prisoners of war at Wewak in early October 1943, air raids at Hollandia and Wewak, and his prior knowledge of the Allied landings at Hollandia.
