CHANG, a 24 year old labourer from Canton, surrendered to the Australian troops unarmed. During the interrogation, he gave information that he had been seized by the Japanese in Kowloon and shipped to New Guinea via Palembang. He did not know much about his unit as he had spent his time in New Guinea contructing timber shelters. |
