| Content: | This item is a paybook recording salary payments made between December 1942 and February 1943 to a 2nd Class Pte CHIBA Miyuki, from the 222nd Infantry Regiment of the 36th Division. At the front of the paybook is a list of instructions for its care and use, as well as a list of ranks and special allowances calculating the rate of pay due to Pte CHIBA. The rest of the booklet is divided into columns for recording the month of payment, amount received, and the name and stamp of the paymaster. Four pages of this section are filled in, and record stamps by Sergeant UEDA, Sergeant YAMASHITA, and Sergeant GOSHIMA. This item was captured at Parai in June 1944. |
