Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured on 26 January 1943. This document contains a report compiled between September and October 1942 by Army Medical Officer 1st Lieutenant, OKUBO Fukunobo, about the movement of his unit from Davao in the Philippines to Rabaul and the establishment of a forward hospital at Giruwa from 3 September 1942. The report details the logistical difficulties in setting up the hospital, treatment of patients, general conditions, enemy activity, efforts to prevent disease, and sanitation problems. The document also contains statements on the consumption of medical supplies, weather reports, patient numbers and classification, casualty reports. It also includes maps showing the disposition and arrangement of hospital services, hospital grounds and infirmary. |
