Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Civilian Labourer M216 of the 51st Division Infantry Headquarters, who was captured in Salamaua on 16 September 1943. M216, a 40 year old civilian labourer from Canton, was captured by Australian troops. During the interrogation, M216 provided information on his movements from China to New Guinea, as well as his feelings about being captured. He was glad to be under Australian control as he was treated badly by the Japanese. |
