Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Hollandia (Jayapura) on 28 June 1944 during the Allied attacks on Japanese positions in northern Dutch New Guinea, which were intended to isolate the 18th Army at Wewak. This item is a selection of instructions and intelligence reports issued to transport ship captains between 27 December 1941 and 19 December 1942 by 2 Debarkation Group Headquarters, 11th Independent Engineer Regiment and the Singora and Belawan branch offices of 49th Anchorage Headquarters. It contains information including: instructions to ship captains, security, communications between units reporting enemy submarines, a sketch of anti-submarine obstacles in Singora and Dutch New Guinea, instructions for entering various harbours in south-east Asia, Singora Harbour regulations, directions for entering Singapore Harbour, shipping conventional signs chart, regulations for Prai Harbour (Thailand) and provisional plans for the restoration of Prai Harbour. |
