Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Dagami on 6 November 1944 during the US campaign to recapture the Philippines. This item is a booklet entitled "Instructions concerning air operations on India–Burma frontier, combat training report (air) no. 39", issued on 28 June 1944 by the Imperial General Headquarters, Army Department. This item contains tactical instructions based on combat experience on the India–Burma border, including: interception where intelligence networks are incomplete, anti-intruder measures, attacking enemy aircraft giving low altitude ground support, quarters and rest for flying personnel, communication and aircraft maintenance. Actual combat examples are briefly mentioned.
