Content: This item is a copy of the Japanese-language propaganda news bulletin produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office. This issue boasts the success of the Allied offensives and the damage caused the Japanese. It reports continuing air attacks by the Allies and damage to Japanese warships resulting from the air raid on the naval base in Kure. Also mentioned in this issue are the failed escape of 4,000 Japanese soldiers from the Pegu Hills to Siam and the successful counter-attack by the Chinese. The brief instruction in English indicates that copies of this bulletin were to be immediately distributed among the Japanese troops located in the north, west and east of the upper reaches of Balikpapan Bay.
