Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 2nd Lieutenant HIKOZAKA Goichi of the 50th Independent Anti-Aircraft Battalion, who was captured in the Trobriand Islands on 21 March 1943. HIKOZAKA, a 36 year old 2nd Lieutenant from Shizuoka, was captured by Australian troops in the Trobriand Islands after his boat, Oigawa Maru, was sunk on 3 March 1943. Initially, HIKOZAKA gave a wrong name as he felt ashamed to be captured. He had been in the Army since 1928, and adjutant to the commander of his Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel OHARA. During the interrogation, HIKOZAKA provided information on unit organisation, equipment, anti-aircraft operations, and morale in Japan.
