| Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Wakde on 30 May 1944 during the Japanese retreat across the north coast of New Guinea and Dutch New Guinea. This item, entitled "Plan for the use of gas in the Pawang-Cheng area", was issued by the Composite Chemical Warfare Unit of the 35th Division. The document contains plans for an attack in China (near Huainan) and the use of chemical weapons including, organisation of the unit, collection of intelligence, weather conditions, training, communication and the construction of trenches.
