Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Takloban on 28 October 1944 during the US campaign to recapture the Philippines. This item is a collection of documents on police duties, counter-intelligence, propaganda and fifth column activities, issued between 11 January and 28 December 1943 by Watari Group (14th Army) Staff Section Counter Intelligence Squad. It was held by the Tacloban Military Police Department. It contains information on counter-intelligence and security, measures against Allied espionage in the Philippines, strengthening of shipping security, rumour investigation, Japanese propaganda in the Philippines, examples of propaganda, United States broadcasts to the Philippines, guerrilla activities and the organisation of guerilla espionage groups. |
