Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) research report on the location of industrial plants in Japan. The enquiry was received on 9 June 1943 and an answer despatched on 2 August 1943. This item contains a brief overview of Japan's industrial production since the 1920s with an emphasis on motor vehicle production, the source of imported goods and the manufacture of vehicle componentry. Comments are also made about the financial and technological efficiency of various Japanese companies, such as Mitsubishi, Nissan, Okamoto, Daihatsu, Hitachi and Dai Nippon Cycle. |
