Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Sagerak (?) on 26 September 1943, presumably in the Huon Peninsula during the Japanese retreat through the Finisterre Range. This item is an extract from a chemical warfare reference manual issued by Staff Officer TAKAYANAGI of 20th Division Headquarters. It contains information on army chemical equipment, artillery gas shells, smoke candles, tactical employment and decontamination. This document was distributed in December 1942 while the unit was still in Seoul, Korea, and does not relate to operational activity in New Guinea. |
