Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Maffin on 28 May 1944 during the Allied attacks on Japanese positions in northern Dutch New Guinea, which were intended to isolate the 18th Army at Wewak. This item is a booklet entitled "Explanation of military terms", issued by Iseki Force (36th Division) Medical Section, undated. It contains a glossary of military terms, most consisting of one or two words used to mean an abstract idea of an military operation, extracted from a file of printed and mimeographed pamphlets dated from 1939 to 1943. |
