Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured in the Komiatum-Mt Tambu area on 15 August 1943 during the Japanese retreat from campaigns in the Owen Stanley Ranges. This item is a ground communications manual dated November 1942 to January 1943. It contains signals and codes for air–ground liaison by panel display, morse signals, lights, pyrotechnics, visual hand signals, radio and airplane movements. It also contains identification charts for Japanese aircraft and recognition characteristics, estimated performance, specification and crews for American aircraft. |
