Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Sergeant ISHIHARA Mayayoshi of the 50th Independent Anti-Aircraft Battalion 1st Company 2nd Platoon, who was captured on Goodenough Island on 9 March 1943. ISHIHARA, a 28 year old Sergeant from Aichi, was captured by Australian troops when he and his companions reached Goodenough Island after the sinking of Shinai Maru on 3 March. During the interrogation, ISHIHARA provided information on the unit organisation, anti-aircraft guns, aircraft, defences in Rabaul, and returning of the ashes of dead soldiers. |
