Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Cape Dinga near Nassau Bay on 15 July 1943 during the Japanese retreat from campaigns in the Owen Stanley Ranges. This item is issue no. 342 and 343 of "The Weekly", published on 5 and 12 May 1943 respectively by the Japanese Department of Information. It contains articles on a variety of topics relating to the Japanese homefront including, the national savings effort, food production, public health, war history, army morale and welfare, military government in occupied territories, economic development, education, demographics and Japanese internees. |
