Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for JA145754, a Superior Private with 20th Division, 80th Infantry Regiment, who was captured near Singorkai on 20 March 1944. JA145754 was ill with malaria and was left behind during the withdrawal from Finschhafen. He was captured by natives and handed over to Australian troops. During the interrogation, JA145754 provided information on volunteers in the Japanese Army, training, mail distribution, numbers of Allied prisoners of war in a camp near Keijo and Jinsen, gold production and gold mines. |
