Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. It covers the period between 20 and 24 November 1944. The leaflet reports the recent losses of the Japanese forces in the Philippines, the air raid on the Japanese naval base in Borneo, the sinking of Japanese ships by British submarines and the landings on Mapia Islands. It also discusses the war situation in Europe. The back of the leaflet has a picture of one of the Lancaster bombers which sank the Tirpitz. 100,000 of them were printed. 51,000 of these leaflets were dispatched to Hollandia on November 1944 and 52,500 to Darwin on 25 November 1944. |
