Content: | This item is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured in the Gona beach area on 7 December 1942 during the Japanese withdrawal from the Papuan campaigns. The document is a training manual for anti-aircraft gunners and anti-submarine personnel aboard ships. It contains instructions on firing methods, observation strategies, liaison, training methods and safety precautions. It also provides firing specifications for a Type 88 7 cm anti-aircraft gun firing Type 90 anti-aircraft pointed shells. |
