Content: | This item is a record of service for Superior Private OKUTANI Ryôyû of the 78th Infantry Regiment 1st Infantry Gun Detachment, who died in the 20th Division 2nd Field Hospital at Bau-ak when it was attacked by enemy forces in December 1943. As well as the date and cause of death, the document lists OKUTANI's service record in the Imperial Army, beginning with his induction into the 168th Infantry Regiment in 1941, and his participation in various expeditions during the Pacific War at locations such as Palau. It was captured at Anamo in July 1944. |
