Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Sergeant HOSODA Tetsuo of the Shipping Artillery Regiment, Akatsuki 2954 who was captured on Goodenough Island on 9 March 1943. His boat, Taimei Maru, was sunk on 3 March 1943 and he and other survivors landed on Goodenough Island. HOSODA, a 23 year old Sergeant from Gunma, was wounded and resting in a hut when he was captured by US troops. The official unit name of Akatsuki 2954 could not be identified by this compiler. This short report corrects and clarifies the previous information on Zerotype fighter planes in Interrogation Report No. 90 (Serial No. 1950).
