Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Morotai on 24 September 1944 during the Allied attacks of Japanese positions in northern Dutch New Guinea, which were intended to isolate the 18th Army at Wewak. This item is a manual entitled "NI (Netherlands Indies) Commando Raiding Unit tactics", issued in 1944 by Eastern 33rd Force and held by 2nd Lieutenant HORIUCHI. It contains information on the general principles of commando operations, methods of infiltration, movement in enemy territory, training, concealment and special intelligence work.
