Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Tanauan on 29 October 1944 during the US campaign to recapture the Philippines. This item is a collection of seven intelligence reports, dated 21 July to 20 September 1944, held by the 22nd Field Artillery Regiment and issued by the Nao Group (35th Army), the Shobu Group (14th Area Army) and the Watari Group (14th Area Army). These items contain information on the movement of Allied shipping, accounts of Allied airfields and air units in the New Guinea area, a sketch of Allied communication networks in New Guinea, the situation on Peleliu (part of the Palau Islands) on 20 September, reports on the movements of high-ranking Allied officers such as Admiral Nimitz, General MacArthur and General Eichelberger, and a report on the movement of Japanese units in Burma.
