| Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda news bulletin produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. It reports the return of peace to Europe, the fall of the Nazis, the situation on Okinawa, the air raids across the Japanese mainland, the landing of the Australian forces on Borneo and the conclusion of the war in Burma. It includes a picture concerning the signing of the surrender document by the Germans and a picture showing a large number of German POWs. 250,000 of them were printed. 50,000 of these leaflets were dispatched to Morotai on 30 May 1945 and 67,500 to Darwin on 30 May and 4 June 1945. |
