Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. The leaflet includes a number of photos depicting the life of Japanese POWs in Australia. The text includes extracts from the Geneva Convention and details how POWs are treated at internment camps in Australia. An English translation of the text is provided. 100,000 of them were printed. 45,600 of these leaflets were dispatched to Darwin on 21 August 1944, 15,000 to Torokina on 23 September 1944, and about 140,000 to Torokina between 2 September and 29 October 1944. |
