Content: | This is a supplementary Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Cadet ARAI Ichitarô of the 50th Anti-Aircraft Battalion 3rd Company Commanding Section, who was captured near Trobriand Islands on 21 March 1943. ARAI, a 23 year old Cadet from Saitama, was captured by Australian troops while he and his companions were on a small boat after the sinking of Oigawa Maru. During the interrogation, ARAI initially gave the false name of ARAKI, but provided information on his unit organisation and organisational chart of E78 Force as of April 1942. |
