Content: | This item appears to be an English translation of a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet. A copy of the Japanese original is not attached. The message aims to remind Japanese soldiers of their homeland and Japanese women and to induce them to compare their miserable existence in the jungle with the familiar surroundings in Japan. The leaflet mentions that Japanese POWs are well cared for in accordance with the International Law, and encourages potential recipients of the leaflet to follow the example. Copies were to be distributed in the upper reaches of Balikpapan Bay. |
