Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) research report issued on 23 August 1944 on Japanese place names. This report contains a list of 1,710 Japanese place names for English, Spanish and Filipino names for locations in the Philippines. Province, island, latitude and longitude are also given. Many of the place names on the Bataan Peninsula are elementary Japanese words because the Japanese in action in this area gave the simplest names possible to small unnamed villages and areas in order to avoid confusion. |
