Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office. An English translation of the text is attached. It is dated on 16 May 1945. Major events covered by this issue are the transfer of Allied troops to the Pacific, the air raids on the Japanese mainland, the war situation on Okinawa, the advance of the Allied Forces in Burma, the movement of the Australian forces from Tarakan and the fall of Wewak. 120,000 of them were printed. 60,000 of these leaflets were dispatched to Darwin on 21 and 22 May 1945, 30,600 to Lae on 22 May 1945, and 30,000 to Torokina on 22 May 1945. |
