Content: | This item is an official diary for the month of November 1943 recording the activities of the 4th Company of the 39th Independent Motor Car Battalion, while stationed at Erima in the Wewak Madang region of New Guinea. It contains daily reports and orders concerning unit activities, including road building, transport duties between Erima and Yaula, and construction of barracks. There are also reports of shell attacks from enemy warships, special orders concerning the fortification of the coastal line of defence, and a transcript of a battle report from fighting in the Finisterre Range. It was probably captured at Hansa Bay in July 1944 |
