Content: These records consist of operations records, orders, memoirs and maps from Japanese army campaigns in the Bismarck Archipelago and Solomon Islands. They either survived the post-war campaign of destruction of official documents or were compiled in the immediate post-war period by the Japanese Demobilisation Ministry. Examples of these are memoirs and songs of a soldier on Bougainville, and a war diary for the 7th Field Artillery Platoon for the period 1942-43.
