Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured in the Sanananda area on 16 February 1943 during the Japanese retreat from campaigns in the Owen Stanley Ranges. This booklet, published in 1938 by the Saipan Branch Administration Office, contains geographical, historical, industrial, medical, social and demographic data about Saipan. This item also contains basic maps of the Saipan group of islands.

This item would have provided useful information to Allied commanders about the island group in preparation for the invasion in June 1944.
