Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda material produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. The message warns that all drinking water in the area is contaminated and the chemical purifiers issued by the Japanese are ineffective. It is stressed that Japanese soldiers should demand the same water purifiers that the Allied soldiers are provided with. It appears that the purpose of the message is to indicate the superiority of the Allies in a matter directly relevant to soldiers' everyday life. 5,000 of them were printed. |
