Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Nefaar (near Hollandia) on 1 May 1944 during the Allied attacks on Japanese positions in northern Dutch New Guinea, which were intended to isolate the 18th Army at Wewak. This item is a manual entitled "Collection of combat examples of the use of smoke and others (war gases)", issued in June 1943 by the Department of Military Education. It contains combat examples of the use of smoke candles and red (vomiting gas) candles during campaigns in China. |
