Content: This item is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured in the Sanananda area on 24 February 1943 during the Japanese withdrawal from the Papuan campaigns. The item is a reproduction of a 1941 manual on landing procedures, including explanations of embarkation orders, landing preparations, command structures, safety precautions, boarding distributions. It also contains training scenarios and a diagram of mock landing operations. This item could have been carried by Japanese forces withdrawing from Buna.
