Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured in western New Britain on 26–27 December 1943 after troops landed on western New Britain during the campaign to capture the island. This item is a field diary of 4 Company, 64 Line of Communications Sector, dated 18 June to 13 September 1943. It contains details of shipping and cargo movements, troop movement and accounts of an Allied air attack on barge traffic and land installations at Tsurubu (Tuluvu) on 18 and 19 July and at Natamo (near Cape Gloucester) between 20 July and 13 September. |
