Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 1st Class Private JA145682 of the 33rd Independent Engineer Regiment 1st Company 2nd Platoon 3rd Section, who was captured in Nambariwa on 12 January 1944. JA145682, a 35 year old 1st Class Private from Aichi, was sick with malaria and separated from his unit when he was captured by a Papuan Infantry Battalion patrol. During the interrogation, JA145682 provided information on unit organisation, movement, troop and war ships, Allied propaganda leaflets, Allied attacks, and Japanese defences in New Guinea. |
