Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Kaiapit on 21 September 1943 during the campaigns on the Huon Peninsula. This item is a notebook entitled "Chemical warfare agents", most likely written before December 1941. It contains a discussion on the characteristics of gas warfare, the physical properties of various chemical weapons, anti-gas precautions, the history of chemical warfare, and offensive and defensive chemical combat. The document also lists the natural chemical resources of Japan, Germany and the United States. This document was, presumably, brought to New Guinea from Korea. |
